sayang... Sad reproductive health bill ng group 1.... Icon_twisted

at...

halimbawa:

May nagawa ba?

Pwede naman yun a.

It's better to be safe than to be sorry.

Condoms and cervical barriers such as the diaphragm have similar typical use first-year failure rates (14 and 20 percent, respectively), but perfect usage of the condom is more effective (three percent first-year failure vs six percent) and condoms have the additional feature of helping to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases such as the HIV virus. The withdrawal method, if used consistently and correctly, has a first-year failure rate of four percent. Due to the difficulty of consistently using withdrawal correctly, it has a typical use first-year failure rate of 19 percent,[49] and is not recommended by some medical professionals

pinapaalam ung tamang pag gamit dito.... Evil or Very Mad

The combined oral contraceptive pill (COCP), often referred to as the birth-control pill or simply "the pill", is a birth control method that includes a combination of an estrogen (oestrogen) and a progestin (progestogen)

Side effect nitong isang instrumento ng kababuyan

1.different sources note different incidences of side-effects. The most common side-effect is breakthrough bleeding. A University of New Mexico Student Health Center webpage says the majority (about 60%) of women report no side effects at all, and the vast majority of those who do, have only minor effects. A 1992 French review article said that as many as 50% of new first-time users discontinue the Pill before the end of the first year because of nuisance bleeding irregularity side effects such as breakthrough bleeding and amenorrhead

2.Weight
The same 1992 French review article noted that in the subgroup of adolescents 15–19 years of age in the 1982 National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG) who had stopped taking the Pill, 20–25% reported they stopped taking the Pill because of either acne or weight gain, and another 25% stopped because of fear of cancer.[66] A 1986 Hungarian study comparing two high-dose estrogen (both 50 µg ethinyl estradiol) pills found that women using a lower-dose biphasic levonorgestrel formulation (50 µg levonorgestrel x 10 days + 125 µg levonorgestrel x 11 days) reported a significantly lower incidence of weight gain compared to women using a higher-dose monophasic levonorgestrel formulation (250 µg levonorgestrel x 21 days).[67]
Many clinicians consider the public perception of weight gain on the Pill to be inaccurate and dangerous. The aforementioned 1992 French review article noted that one unpublished 1989 study by Professor Elizabeth Connell at Emory University of 550 women found that 23% of the 6% of women who discontinued the Pill because of poor cycle control experienced subsequent unwanted pregnancies.[66] A 2000 British review article concluded there is no evidence that modern low-dose pills cause weight gain, but that fear of weight gain contributed to poor compliance in taking the Pill and subsequent unintended pregnancy, especially among adolescents

3.Sexuality
COCPs may increase natural vaginal lubrication.[69] Other women experience reductions in libido while on the pill, or decreased lubrication.[69][70] Some researchers question a causal link between COCP use and decreased libido;[71] a 2007 study of 1700 women found COCP users experienced no change in sexual satisfaction.[72] A 2005 laboratory study of genital arousal tested fourteen women before and after they began taking COCPs. The study found that women experienced a significantly wider range of arousal responses after beginning pill use; decreases and increases in measures of arousal were equally common.[73] Exogenous supplementation of hormones promotes SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin) as the HPOA (hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian-axis) seeks to restore homeostasis. SHBG indiscriminately binds to sex hormones, which includes androgens created by the ovaries which are responsible for libido and climax potential. It is interesting to note that it was not a condition of 'efficacy' for female hormonal contraceptive to inhibit sexual function and enjoyment.

4.Other side-effects associated with low-dose COCPs are leukorrhea (increased vaginal secretions), reductions in menstrual flow, mastalgia (breast tenderness), increase in breast size, and decrease in acne. Side-effects associated with older high-dose COCPs include nausea, vomiting, increases in blood pressure, and melasma (facial skin discoloration); these effects are not strongly associated with low-dose formulations.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combined_oral_contraceptive_pill

Now that's natural!....

The Philippine Reproductive Health Bill-Where Do You Stand?
Knowing the details of the proposed law is essential in having a healthy debate on the issue. Here are the pertinent details of the proposed bill, which was introduced during a session of the current Congress by

Honorable Edcel C. Lagman, Janette L. Garin, Narcio D. SantiagoIII, Mark Llandro Mendoza, Ana Teresa Hontiveros-Baraquel and Elandro Jesus F. Madrona, and provides as follows:
Guiding Principles
. – This Act declares the following as basic guiding principles:a. In the promotion of reproductive health, there should be no bias for either modern or natural methods of family planning;b. Reproductive health goes beyond a demographic target because it is principally about health and rights;c. Gender equality and women empowerment are central elements of reproductive health and population development;d. Effective reproductive health care services must be given primacy to ensure the birth and care of healthy children and to promote responsible parenting;e. The limited resources of the country cannot be suffered to, be spread so thinly to service a burgeoning multitude that makes the allocations grossly inadequate and effectively meaningless;f. Freedom of informed choice, which is central to the exercise of any right, must be fully guaranteed by the State like the right itself;g. Free and full access to relevant, adequate and correct information on reproductive health and human sexuality guided by qualified State workers and professional private practitioners;h. Reproductive health, including the promotion of breastfeeding, must be the joint concern of the National Government and Local Government Units (LGUs);i. Protection and promotion of gender equality, women empowerment and human rights, including reproductive health rights, are imperative;j. Development is a multi-faceted process that calls for the coordination and integration of policies, plans, programs and projects that seek to uplift the quality of life of the people, more particularly the poor, the needy and the marginalized;k. Active participation by and thorough consultation with concerned non-government organizations (NGOs), people’s organizations (Pos) and communities are imperative to ensure that basic policies, plans, programs and projects address the priority needs of stakeholders
